Exteriorization in general is defined as the externalization of an abstract form (ie spirit, essence) into an outward form.  Relating to Scientology, Exteriorization is attained when a person realizes his “Self” as an immortal spiritual being and that the “Self” is not his body.

Exteriorization can also mean, the removal of an internal organ for a temporary amount of time.  This technique has been used to repair physical damage to organs like the colon.
