Taking 10 grams, or 10,000 milligrams of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) will not do much of anything to you.  The worst that could happen is you may have some diarrhea or nausea.  If you take 10 grams every day you will also not experience any significant problems.  It’s just a waste of vitamin C.

Not taking vitamin C is sure to be harmful however as it is the only thing that keeps away scurvy.  Scurvy is the result of a lack of ascorbic acid.  Most animals create their own ascorbic acid, but not us humans, we prefer to take it manually.   Scurvy results in the weakening of capillaries, which causes hemorrhages, bleeding of the guns, anemia, and even loose teeth
