How high do you need to drop a penny in order for it to cause significant damage to a human being?

This is a fairly simple question to answer.  A penny will never kill anyone, it doesn’t matter what height it’s dropped from.  The explanation of this answer is a little tougher.

The terminal velocity of a penny is 35-65 mph, that’s not fast enough to break the skin let alone cause any significant damage.  Terminal velocity is a term given to the fastest than an object can drop, in the case of a penny the maximum speed it can attain is 65mph.  To create a little perspective, a skydiver can attain speeds close to 200 mph.  The penny is just too light to pick up enough speed to hurt someone due to air resistance.
