I would have answered this question earlier but I was procrastinating.  The best thing you can do to stop procrastinating is to force yourself to work.  It will become easier as you get used to doing a certain amount of work.  Usually getting into a routine will break the cycle of procrastination.  Do something for twenty-one days and you’ll be used to it, it feel so much like work, but don’t let temptation break your routine.

Unfortunately there are many reasons for procrastination and the specific things that may help will depend on why you’re procrastinating in the first place.  I do it because I have things I’d rather do.  You are deciding to not do something you know you should do, just decide to do the thing you should be doing.  Motivate yourself with personal rewards, or the knowledge that you’ll be able to be way lazier if you’re successful in life, that’s what retirement is all about.

Try different techniques until you find one that works for you.  I dream of being rich, then I suddenly have the urge to work, go figure.

This link will provide some tips and some books that you’ll probably never get around to reading.
