How many songs can a gigabyte hold?

Author: ctpb

A gigabyte is 1,000 megabytes.  Songs are various lengths but an mp3 on average is about 3-4 megabytes per song.  So at 3.5 megabytes per song, a gigabyte would hold about 285 songs.  If you store songs in .wav files or other mediums you typically cannot fit nearly as many songs.
