If you're on birth control pills, would you still get your period if you became pregnant?

You shouldn’t get your period if you are pregnant, even if you’re on birth control pills; however, woman all react differently to both pregnancy and birth control pills.  While it is extremely unlikely that you would get your period once you’re pregnant there is the occasional case of a woman having a period soon after becoming pregnant.  It is generally safe to assume you are not pregnant if you have a period though.

Now if you’re on the pill you shouldn’t get pregnant, although it is technically still possible.  The odds of getting pregnant while on birth control pills, and still getting a period are not very good.

Birth control pills themselves will not make you have a period if you’re pregnant.  They do affect the menstrual cycle, but they’re job is to prevent the release of an egg, not to ensure a regular cycle.

If you are experiencing any odd effects from either the pill, or being pregnant, you should see your doctor about it.
