It could be a hernia as a hernia is described as a protrusion of a tissue, among other descriptions. It is doubtful that it is your ovaries though; they are fairly deep inside your body, and only the size of an almond. For them to protrude there would have to be a very significant problem, one that would have been painful enough to drive you to the hospital, or at least a doctor, much earlier on, plus that mention of a vein makes me think it may be a hernia over a protrusion of your ovaries. That being said the human body is capable of doing a great many things that either hasn’t been done before, or haven’t been done often enough for us to know about them. People have fought of AIDS and cancer, and then others have had small injuries or seemingly nothing at all cause great discomfort and even death.
My advice as always is to visit your doctor, only they are qualified enough to tell you what may be wrong with you.
