Are UFO’s and aliens real?
UFO’s (Unidentified Flying Objects) are very real. If I see something moving across the sky, and I don’t know what it is, it is a UFO to me. Whether it is a UFO to everyone on the planet is another story. If is were the case that no one could identify the flying object I think it would be safe to assume that the UFO is either an anomaly of some kind, or a alien spacecraft. Since we can’t double check with everyone (especially some governments) about each UFO, we can’t really be sure if they are aliens, or human controlled devices.
Lets investigate both the odds that aliens exist anywhere, and then the odds that they’ve been to out planet. The universe is vast to say the least, many argue it is infinite. Whether it is infinite or not, it is huge. In order for life to exist certain environments must exists, now we don’t know all the potential life supporting environments, but we know it must be rare, otherwise the other planets in our own solar system might have life on it. How do we know any other life exists at all you may ask. The base components of life have already been found in some places in the solar system, Titan (a moon of Jupiter) has been found to have base amino acids in its atmosphere, these amino acids are fundamental for the formation of life as we know it. We can assume that life strives to exist everywhere it can in any form it can, even if it’s just amino acids. From this we can assume there are other planets that can support life at least similar to us. The nest question is does this life have intelligent though. The dinosaurs are one example of potential alien life, another Earth like planet may have dinosaurs on it right now! However dinosaurs existed more than 250 times longer than humans have and we have no evidence that they were intelligent in any way. There are also many species living with us right now and none of them are intelligent. Yet we are here and we are intelligent and it is as much a guess to say there is other intelligent life as it is a guess to say there is no other intelligent life. I’d say yes life exists on other planets, although it is rare, and intelligent life exists on other planets although that is even rarer.
So we’ve decided there is a good chance that there are aliens, and lets assume they have the means for interstellar travel. Should they decide to seek out life they are in for a challenge. Astronomers believe today that there are over 140 billion galaxies, and each galaxy contains tens of billions of stars and each star may have a planet that supports life on it. So the odds of an alien race finding us it all of space is slim to none, closer to none. Still if they are looking they may have found a planet with life on it, perhaps that one is ours, which would be like winning the lottery every week for your entire life, quite unlikely. The other thought we must add is if they did find us, would they bother with us, and if they did bother with us why are they so interested in probing us?
